The discovery of exoplanets in the habitable regions of their suns, according to the world’s leading astrophysicists, makes the existence of extraterrestrial life a foregone conclusion. Astronomical observations of exoplanets has stimulated scientific conferences questioning, for the first time, the societal and political implications of intelligent life existing somewhere in the far reaches of space. For example, a September 18-19 Symposium sponsored by NASA and the Library of Congress brings together some of the worlds leading astrobiologists to discuss ways of preparing the public for the discovery of extraterrestrial life. According to astrophysicists such as Stephen Hawking, extraterrestrials would most likely be predatory in nature and the best response to contact would be to equip the world’s military to defend humanity.

For others, convinced that extraterrestrials have been visiting humanity since the dawn of the nuclear age, scientists are late comers to the party. A host of whistleblowers, experiencers and government documents have revealed, according to UFO and “exopolitics” researchers that extraterrestrials are already here. Not only have extraterrestrials been silently watching us, but advanced technologies have been developed to monitor, intercept and even shoot down their spacecraft. All this has been done secretly for national security reasons if the evidence is to be believed.  So what would extraterrestrials be like? What would be their science, politics and spirituality?

There have been a few ad hoc attempts to answer such questions. As far as the astrophysics/astrobiological community is concerned, there have been conferences by the Royal Society and the Pontifical Academy of Sciences which tackled some of these questions. In a conference proceedings paper, the Royal Society’s Dr Martin Dominik and Prof John C. Zarnecki endorsed studying the societal aspects of any discovery of extraterrestrial life. They stressed the importance of determining the possible motivations of extraterrestrial life:

The detection and further study of extra-terrestrial life will fundamentally challenge our view of nature, including ourselves, and therefore the field of astrobiology can hardly be isolated from its societal context, including philosophical, ethical and theological perspectives. With the detection of extra-terrestrial life being technically feasible, one needs to address whether perceived societal benefits command us to search for it, or whether such an endeavor may rather turn out to be a threat to our own existence

A popular online course on astrobiology asks at the end of a five week program: “What are the possibilities for intelligent life elsewhere? How would we deal with contact with an extraterrestrial intelligence and what would be the impact on society? Who would represent Earth?”

The best attempt to systematically address questions concerning the science of extraterrestrial civilizations has been undertaken by Professor Michio Kaku from Columbia University. Kaku has used a typology of hypothetical extraterrestrial civilizations based on energy consumption first developed by Soviet Astronomer, Nikoli Kardarshev in 1964. In the “The Physics of Extraterrestrial Civilizations” and “The Physics of Interstellar Travel,” Kaku offers insightful analyses of how energy consumption of extraterrestrial civilizations reveals much about their possible science, and spacefaring abilities.

Kaku’s and Kardashev’s analyses, predictably exclude the extensive but controversial body of evidence examined by UFO/expolitics researchers that extraterrestrials are visiting us now.  This is understandable if not without criticism by those seriously investigating such evidence. The astrophysics/astrobiological community only accepts data that can be scientifically tested and replicated in a way that leaves no doubt as to its veracity and of any conclusions drawn. Evidence that extraterrestrials are currently visiting us cannot be so tested and replicated according to normal scientific protocols; since it is subject to controversy, missing key data, government denial, witness accuracy, etc. However, what if the excluded evidence could tell us something about the politics and spirituality of extraterrestrials that could be matched up with the best scientific speculations over their science? Wouldn’t it be worth examining such evidence even if it wasn’t conclusive? There have been attempts to do so.

A 2008 conference presentation by the author did examine evidence of extraterrestrial visitation using the typology first developed by Kardeshev and later used by Kaku. The conclusions are startling. One can get a rough idea of the science, politics and science of extraterrestrial civilizations. The implications are enormous. Once we understand the science, politics, and spirituality of extraterrestrial civilizations, we can make informed choices about how to best resolve global problems. Furthermore, we can transform the Earth using advanced extraterrestrial knowledge and technologies. The video of my 2008 conference presentation is available here or below for free viewing.

For those wanting to dive deeper into the available literature and evidence concerning extraterrestrial science, politics and spirituality, then I recommend the following online course (click here) which starts on September 15, and is offered through the Exopolitics Institute.

The discovery of exoplanets has already transformed the astrophysics and astrobiological communities with physical evidence that the Earth is not the only habitable planet in our galaxy. If life can “spontaneously” develop here, then it could do so anywhere – perhaps on one of the exoplanets already discovered. Over time, intelligent life would evolve and like humanity, develop a keen interest in visiting other worlds. Learning a little about what extraterrestrial science, politics and spirituality could be like is a wise move even for those still skeptical that intelligent alien life exists.

Summary of CIA Wiretap Document copy

Summary of analysis of Leaked CIA document in response to critical analysis. Source: Lee Nicholson

On May 19, 2014 Lee Nicholson from the popular Outpost Forum, announced the results of a detailed analysis of more declassified documents from the CIA electronic archives that help confirm the validity of a leaked document allegedly of a CIA wiretap of Marilyn Monroe and her closest friends. Monroe had been under CIA surveillance due to her friendship with the Kennedy brothers and communist sympathizers up to the time of her mysterious death on August 5, 1962, two days after the Wiretap document. The Wiretap document is a summary of her recent phone conversations where she planned a “tell all” press conference revealing President Kennedy’s secrets and knowledge about a retrieved UFO at a USAF facility. In response to a critical analysis of his initial article about his research at the CIA electronic archives, Nicholson analyzed further CIA documents that addressed the criticisms and published the results. His conclusion is that the Wiretap document matches authentic CIA documents so closely “that it could not have been faked without access to CIA archives.” Consequently, the leaked wiretap document is either an authentic CIA document leaked to the public, or a document that was created by some with access to the CIA archives who likely had authorization to do so.

In response to Nicholson’s first article released on April 14, four key points emerged in a critical analysis of his research. These were:

1. All CIA documents from that time frame contained a phrase on the bottom of the page which stated: “Automatically declassified by code xxxx on xx/xx/xxxx.” This is noticeably absent on the Marilyn wiretap document. 2. The classification “Top Secret – Not for publication” never appeared on documents. It is a non sequitur. The ranking of a document as “Top Secret” is and of itself the actual highest ranking, higher even than any document containing other code names or phrases along with the Top Secret stamp. 3. The document is also missing a border color. It should have a blue stripe on it. 4. The CIA was not using typewriters in 1963. By that time everything that was typed came from either teletype machines or by early computers and printers.

Nicholson used newly declassified Information Reports from the CIA’s electronic archives to answer each of the criticisms. In response to the first criticism, he found that Information Reports contain classification information at the very bottom. In the leaked CIA Wiretap document, Nicholson points out:

One thing we can say for sure is that our leaked document has been cropped both top and bottom, it does not contain the words “Information Report”, this may have been done accidently or on purpose by the individual that leaked the document.

Information Report with Multiple Markings. Click image to expand. Source: Lee Nicholson

Information Report with Multiple Markings. Click image to expand. Source: Lee Nicholson

With regard to the second point, Nicholson found multiple classification stamps on CIA documents. This signified that documents are routinely downgraded and stamped accordingly prior to release. He provided an example of a CIA document with multiple security stamps. He wrote:

It is my contention therefore that the Marilyn Wiretap was initially classified Top Secret but was later downgraded prior to leaking, at which time the second “NOT FOR PUBLICATION” stamp was added.

Regarding the third point, of a missing border color, Nicholson points out that it is missing due to the document being cropped prior to being leaking.

Finally, with regard to the document being created using a type writer or teletype machine, Nicholson analyzed the fonts of the leaked document and declassified CIA documents and found them to be virtually identical with each other as he demonstrated in a comparison graphic. He wrote:

Type face comparison between leaked CIA document and a declassified CIA Information Report. Source: Lee Nicholson

Type face comparison between leaked CIA document and a declassified CIA Information Report. Source: Lee Nicholson

Whether the Marilyn wiretap document was hand typed or printed is really as moot point, as either way it is 100% consistent with declassified CIA Information Reports …

Nicholson’s conclusion from his analysis of a number of declassified CIA Information Reports is that the Monroe wiretap document was an Information Report subjected to a review prior to its dissemination. Nicholson suggested:

… either a semi-official declassification process occurred, in the case of a sanctioned release. Or an extremely cautious and experienced archivist sanitized the document before it was passed to Tim Cooper in 1992, if the document was smuggled out and leaked without consent.

The implications of Nicholson’s research are staggering. Authenticating the allegedly leaked CIA Wiretap document shows not only that Monroe was under official surveillance by the CIA, but that her death was more than likely linked to her planned tell all press conference. Monroe’s knowledge that President Kennedy had seen artifacts from a crashed UFO housed at a classified Air Force facility would have shocked the nation then. Today, such knowledge not only helps explains Monroe’s mysterious death two days after the Wiretap document date, but also casts light on JFK’s assassination just over a year later.

3 Earth Defense Force Logo

A new whistleblower has come forward to claim that he spent almost three years serving in a secret Space Fleet run by a multinational organization called the Earth Defense Force. In exclusive testimony released today on ExoNews TV, the whistleblower, who uses the pseudonym, Captain Kaye, said that the Earth Defense Force recruits personnel from the military services of different nations including China, Russia and the U.S. He claims that he was recruited from a covert branch of the U.S. Marine Corps called “Special Section,” after having served previously for 17 years on Mars protecting five human colonies from indigenous Martian life forms.

Captain Kaye’s testimony describes three different types of space fighters and three bombers that he was trained to fly. Training took place on secret moon base called Lunar Operations Command, Saturn’s moon Titan, and in deep space. The space fighters and bombers had different propulsion systems ranging from fission and fusion nuclear energy, an electro-gravitic system, temporal space drive and more traditional thruster systems. He also reveals the existence of at least five large cigar shaped space carriers that are capable of interstellar flight that house the smaller fighters and bombers. He claims he served on one called “EDF SS Nautilus” which was up to ¾ of a mile long.

Captain Kaye claims that there was strict enforcement of non-communications with Earth during one’s military service, and need-to-know requirements for operations outside the solar system. After completing his 20 year tour of duty, he describes a retirement ceremony on Lunar Operations Command that was presided over by VIPs including former Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld.

Parts of Captain Kaye’s testimony is consistent with the claims of other whistleblowers describing a secret space fleet. Most prominent among these is former President Ronald Reagan who alluded to a highly classified space fleet in the June 11, 1985 entry in his diaries where he revealed that “our shuttle capacity is such that we could orbit 300 people.” A succession of whistleblowers and aeronautical experts have come forward to reveal various details of advanced antigravity technologies that can, in the words of Ben Rich (former Lockheed Skunkworks CEO) “take ET home.” Captain Kaye is currently seeking documents to verify his incredible experiences, and for now offers his testimony as evidence of a break away human civilization that operates a secret space fleet.

Comparison of CIA documents

Comparison of Monroe Wiretap document with declassified CIA Information Report. Source: Outpost Forum

New evidence has just been released supporting the authenticity of a leaked CIA document allegedly of wiretaps of Marilyn Monroe and her friends shortly before her suspicious death on August 4, 1962. The wiretap document revealed that Monroe was planning to give a press conference about what President Kennedy had told her of a visit to an undisclosed Air Force facility where he saw the debris of a crashed UFO. The Monroe wiretap document was first leaked in 1992 to a UFO researcher, and was made public in 1994. It has not been confirmed by the CIA to be genuine, and remains open to dispute. The new evidence that was revealed yesterday shows that the leaked document conforms closely to a standard classified Information Report form used by the CIA in 1963. Either someone broke the law by forging or using a standard CIA Information Report form for classified reports at the time of Monroe’s death, or the Monroe wiretap document was indeed a classified report about a wiretap of Monroe and her friends.

This is what the alleged CIA wiretap document, dated August 3, 1962, had to say about Monroe’s knowledge of Kennedy and UFOs:

Rothberg indicated in so many words, that she [Monroe] had secrets to tell, no doubt arising from her trists [sic] with the President and the Attorney General. One such “secret” mentions the visit by the President at a secret air base for the purpose of inspecting things from outer space.
2. Subject repeatedly called the Attorney General and complained about the way she was being ignored by the President and his brother.
3. Subject threatened to hold a press conference and would tell all.

The discoverer of the CIA intelligence report is Lee Nicholson from the Outpost Forum. In his April 14 forum post he described what he found after visiting the CIA’s electronic reading room:

During the process of researching this article I spent several hours at the CIA’s electronic reading room looking at documents from the 1960s, in an attempt to find examples of similar typeface to that seen in our questioned document …. I discovered a CIA Information Report dated 18th March, 1963 with the subject heading: “Projected Soviet Space Launchings” which was declassified on the 16th of July 2011. This authentic CIA information report is an almost perfect match in style and presentation for the leaked ‘Marilyn document’.

Nicholson went on to describe new facts emerging from a comparison between the declassified CIA document and the Monroe wiretap document:

In fact a close comparison gleans some important new facts. Firstly, we can now see that both documents use the exact same form letter or template information report. Presumably the author would have a stack of these ‘blank’ forms which would be placed into a typewriter to add the relevant information before classification and distribution. We can also see that both documents contain the same secondary typeface, which is in fact Courier type commonly used on IBM typewriters in the 1960s.

Nicholson then described a series of parallels between the declassified 1963 Information Report and the leaked Monroe wiretap document. His conclusion was that they closely matched suggesting that the Monroe document is genuine.

The implications of the Monroe wiretap document being genuine are astounding. It reveals that only one day before her death, Monroe was planning a press conference that would reveal what President Kennedy had confidentially told her about UFOs. The fact that the CIA was monitoring her and wiretapping her phone calls, directly implicates the CIA in her suspicious death and the cover-up of information concerning UFOs.

Building on Mars

Zoom of NASA Curiosity Rover photo showing apparent buildings on Mars. Source: NASA JPL

NASA’s Curiosity Rover has again transmitted intriguing pictures from the surface of Mars. On April 9, a photo was discovered that appears to show a set of buildings on top of a hill. On Earth, such building locations typically indicate strategic planning to give optimal views of the countryside to protect the inhabitants from attack. Did the Curiosity Rover photograph buildings on Mars that make up a base of unknown origin? If so, the buildings appear to have been constructed for strategic purposes in a Martian terrain that is hospitable to surface life contrary to what NASA has informed the public about Mars atmosphere.

The photo was uploaded in a YouTube video by an anonymous user, Streetcap1. The source for the photo is NASA’s JPL website. It would be a simple matter for the Curiosity Rover to travel to investigate the strange structures. Yet this is very unlikely according to UFO Sightings Scott Waring who wrote in a blog post today:

This discovery was made by Streetcap1 of Youtube. He found some structures on a hill in one of the Mars Curiosity rover photos. Look at the above photo and pay special attention to the white shiny walls on top of the hill. The walls are white on one side due to reflection and dark shadowy on the other side due to the suns angle. Is NASA trying to move the rover away from these obstacles to prevent the public from learning about life on Mars? SCW

According to NASA, Mars atmosphere is 95% carbon dioxide with only a trace amount of oxygen 0.13% – not enough to sustain life on Mars. Yet a series of Curiosity Rover photos have shown what appear to be small animals such as squirrels, lizards and ducks on Mars. If the Rover images do show such animals surviving on the Martian surface, then Waring is correct that NASA is actively preventing “the public from learning about life on Mars.”

The latest Curiosity Rover photo follows another released on April 3 that appeared to show an artificial light on the Mars surface. Media interest grew quickly forcing NASA scientists to publicly explain it. NASA’s explanation of a “vent-hole light leak” or a “glinty rock” was widely ridiculed.

On April 8, testimony was released by a whistleblower who alleges that a military base exists on Mars with the goal of protecting five human colonies from indigenous Martian life. He claims to have served on the military base for 17 years. Fantastic as such claims seem given what is officially known about Mars atmosphere, the latest Curiosity Rover photo showing what appear to be buildings, does make claims of secret military and civilian bases on Mars plausible. Further Curiosity Rover images showing small animal life forms along with strange lights on the Martian surface serve as further evidence of life existing on Mars surface, and of NASA actively covering this up.

NSA Leaked documents and UFOsThe use of a faked Facebook server by the NSA to spread malware is the latest in a string of leaks from the Edward Snowden cache of NSA files that has led to senior Intelligence officials scrambling for ways to defuse another troubling revelation. As documents continue to emerge at a steady rate, a pattern is now becoming clearer. While much of the general public and international media accept the authenticity of the leaked documents, NSA officials and their national intelligence partners refuse to directly acknowledge their authenticity. Yesterday, according to an article in The Intercept by Ryan Gallagher, one of the journalists working with the Snowden NSA files, public authorities again issued evasive responses not acknowledging any wrong doing. Earlier, on February 24, The Intercept released a document from the NSA’s British equivalent that contained slides of UFOs used for training covert operatives in on-line operations. No explanation was given for why and how the UFO images were being used. Was this clear evidence that UFOs were known to be real interplanetary objects, or simply a convenient way of obfuscating other issues being discussed online? This suggests that among NSA files yet to be released, there may be more relating to UFOs. This raises the intriguing possibility that one or more of the upcoming NASA file releases may make public official knowledge of extraterrestrial life, and a cover-up approved by senior national security officials in the U.S. and elsewhere. This would lead to an indefinite period where the existence of alien life becomes widespread public knowledge, while senior officials give evasive responses that neither negate nor confirm the authenticity of the documents in question.

Here is how Gallagher summarized the NSA’s response to the latest leak:

In response, the NSA has attempted to quell the backlash by putting out a public statement dismissing what it called “inaccurate” media reports. The agency denied that it was “impersonating U.S. social media or other websites” and said that it had not “infected millions of computers around the world with malware.” The statement follows a trend that has repeatedly been seen in the aftermath of major disclosures from documents turned over by NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden, in which the NSA or one of its implicated allies issues a carefully worded non-denial denial that on the face of it seems to refute an allegation but on closer inspection does not refute it at all.

Essentially, the strategy being pursued by the NSA and its partners to leaks identifying its policies and practices is to respond with a “carefully worded non-denial denial.” In NSA or its partner responses – intelligence doublespeak to put it simply – there is neither direct acknowledgement nor disavowal of the authenticity of the leaked document. It is then left to the public and mass media to draw their own conclusions and analyses from the documents.

The practice of not acknowledging leaked classified files is not surprising. Senior Intelligence Community officials in the U.S.A. generally take the position that until documents have been officially declassified, viewing or discussing them by any public official is a violation of standard security protocols that could lead to the revocation of one’s security clearance and even criminal charges. This creates problems for intelligence community workers who are officially not allowed to read classified material to which they have not been approved for access, even though it is appearing in the mass media.

When it comes to the issue of extraterrestrial life, there are other reasons why public officials would be reticent to publicly acknowledge the authenticity of any leaked NSA files. If a government agency or corporation was to go on the record to being part of a decades long cover-up of extraterrestrial life, then they would be open to class action law suits to parties injured by such a cover up. In particular, individuals that have been directly involved in the UFO abduction phenomenon – hundreds of thousands according to some estimates – could now sue agencies, corporations and officials involved in such activities. The threat of class action law suits is the Sword of Damocles hanging over the head of official extraterrestrial disclosure. That is probably the biggest reason why official disclosure won’t be happening any time soon. However, there may still be “public disclosure” in the form of “a non-denial denial” as Gallagher describes the now familiar response by the NSA and its partners to the Snowden document leaks.

Consequently, we may very soon witness the following scenario. Future document releases from the Snowden cache of NSA files, or some other whistleblower source, reveal unambiguously that extraterrestrial life exists and that official agencies have been cooperating in covering this up. The NSA and its partner agencies issue the now familiar response to past leaks that neither acknowledges a document’s authenticity nor refutes it. To put it simply, we would have public disclosure of alien life through leaked official documents, yet there would be no “official disclosure” acknowledging this. An intriguing possibility by all means, but certainly something that may well happen, and could last for an indefinite period of time.

Space-Top-Secret-ActivitiesEver wondered what kinds of highly classified military programs are happening in outer space?  Well if you happen to know something about one of them then chances are that it’s an Unacknowledged Special Access Program (USAP) and it’s a criminal offense to reveal anything about it to others. That creates a problem for the field of astropolitics which is dedicated to studying activities in outer space.

As a field of study that began with the launch of the Soviet Sputnik satellite in 1957 and subsequent treaties ratified by space faring nations, astropolitics has grown into a multidisciplinary science studying a wide array of political, legal, economic and social issues related to publicly acknowledged activities in outer space. Yet when it comes to USAP’s there is precious little that is known about them by astropolitics scholars other than they exist and may impact “acknowledged” space activities in important areas of interest.

This week, a novel approach to this problem was proposed in a respected peer reviewed academic journal on astropolitics that went live online on March 3. USAPs are a problem better left to the field of exopolitics which uses a very different approach to understanding what is happening in outer space.

The latest edition of Astropolitics: The International Journal of Space Politics & Policy contains a paper titled, “Astropolitics and the ‘Exopolitics’ of Unacknowledged Activities in Outer Space.” For those that don’t yet know, exopolitics is broadly defined as the study of extraterrestrial life and its political implications, which raises much controversy among space scientists since most believe hard evidence is yet to be found for alien life.

This has led to exopolitical scholars developing a range of social scientific tools to examine the available “soft” evidence that extraterrestrial life has been discovered and has been the subject of highly classified military/corporate programs for as much as seven decades. This soft evidence largely comprises whistleblower and first hand testimonies based on direct personal experiences. These testimonies are both hard to substantiate, yet difficult to completely dismiss. Something to be expected if the testimonies do genuinely involve USAPs.

This is where exopolitics offers astropolitics scholars a way of resolving the dilemma of what to do about USAPs. Many space scientists believe that in the absence of hard evidence, it is a waste of time speculating about what is happening with USAPs and the impact on space. Yet not to examine available soft evidence would mean that USAPs would continue indefinitely without any risk of exposure even though they may be significantly impacting on important space activities. The possibility that the impact may violate space treaties is an important area of concern.

The exopolitics approaches offers a way out of this dilemma since it can examine the available soft evidence in a way that does not compromise the discipline of astropolitics which would continue to focus on hard evidence concerning publicly acknowledged space activities. As a complement or sub-field of astropolitics, exopolitics offers a means of gaining insight into USAPs without turning astropolitics into a speculative field of study.

Whether the proposal to incorporate exopolitics research into the astropolitics discipline succeeds or not, it is significant that the term “exopolitics” has now officially entered the academic lexicon. This suggests that at least some space scientists are interested in learning more about USAPs in Space. The day when astropolitics scholars begin learning about all activities in outer space, acknowledged and unacknowledged, may be arriving a lot sooner than expected.

Note: The article, “Astropolitics and the Exopolitics of Unacknowledged Space Activities” is available to subscribers of the Journal of Astropolitics here. An earlier version, the “Author’s Accepted Manuscript,” is available to non-subscribers here.

UFO photo in the Art of Deception, p. 35

UFO photo in the Art of Deception, p. 35

Among the leaked Snowden National Security Agency (NSA) documents, the first to explicitly involve the UFO issue has just been released and is currently generating much media scrutiny. The 50 page document is a powerpoint presentation titled “The Art of Deception: Training for a New Generation of Online Covert Operations,” and was authored by the British equivalent of the NSA, the Government Communications Headquarters (GCHQ). The document was the subject to an in-depth story released this week by Glenn Greenwald, the journalist who first worked with Edward Snowden to release to the world official NSA surveillance of the general public, and foreign government officials. The leaked document details how the NSA is working with its “Five Eyes” partners in Britain, Canada, Australia and New Zealand to train its operatives in online covert operations. Greenwald’s article exposes how the NSA and its Five Eyes intelligence partners encourage a range of psychological warfare tools to discredit any targets discussing sensitive national security information. In the “Art of Deception” document three of the 50 slides show images of UFOs – one of which dates from 1950. The leaked document reveals a clear connection between online covert operations by the GCHQ and its intelligence partners on the UFO issue. It is smoking gun evidence that the international intelligence community is training its covert operatives to deceive the public on a range of sensitive national security issues including UFOs.

Greenwald released the GCHQ authored document in a story titled, How Covert Agents Infiltrate the Internet to Manipulate, Deceive, and Destroy Reputations.” He begins his story:

One of the many pressing stories that remains to be told from the Snowden archive is how western intelligence agencies are attempting to manipulate and control online discourse with extreme tactics of deception and reputation-destruction. It’s time to tell a chunk of that story, complete with the relevant documents.

Greenwald goes on to summarize the contents of “The Art of Deception” document, authored by a previously secret unit of the GCHQ called the “Joint Threat Research Intelligence Group” (JTRIG):

Among the core self-identified purposes of JTRIG are two tactics: (1) to inject all sorts of false material onto the internet in order to destroy the reputation of its targets; and (2) to use social sciences and other techniques to manipulate online discourse and activism to generate outcomes it considers desirable. To see how extremist these programs are, just consider the tactics they boast of using to achieve those ends: “false flag operations” (posting material to the internet and falsely attributing it to someone else), fake victim blog posts (pretending to be a victim of the individual whose reputation they want to destroy), and posting “negative information” on various forums.

Greenwald concludes:

… these GCHQ documents are the first to prove that a major western government is using some of the most controversial techniques to disseminate deception online and harm the reputations of targets. Under the tactics they use, the state is deliberately spreading lies on the internet about whichever individuals it targets, including the use of what GCHQ itself calls “false flag operations.”

The “The Art of Deception” document is now available online and reveals the wide array of psychological warfare tools used by the NSA and its Five Eyes partners for covert online operations.

The “Art of Deception” has three powerpoint slides that show UFO photos dating as far back as 1950. Greenwald did not discuss the three UFO photos in his story. The fact that the photos take up three of the 50 slides of the “Art of Deception” document indicates that the UFO issue is covered in some detail in the training of online covert operatives in the use of psychological warfare techniques.

This is not a surprise to any familiar with a 1953 report issued by a CIA convened panel investigating reports of flying saucers, as UFOs were widely known at the time. The Robertson Panel delivered a report, the Durant Report, that recommended debunking the flying saucer phenomenon and the possibility of extraterrestrial life, for national security reasons. The Report stated:

The “debunking” aim would result in reduction in public interest in “flying saucers” which today evokes a strong psychological reaction. This education could be accomplished by mass media such as television, motion pictures, and popular articles.… Such a program should tend to reduce the current gullibility of the public and consequently their susceptibility to clever hostile propaganda.

The references to a “strong psychological reaction” and “gullibility of the public” when it comes to UFOs show the emphasis on conducting psychological warfare operations to deceive the public when it comes to the UFO issue. A national security policy that continues to the present day as is clearly reflected in “The Art of Deception” document.

Screen shot of UFO video shot in Mexico

The first of the three UFO images dates from Redbud Illinois in April 23, 1950 (see top). It was taken by a part-time photographer who took the photo while traveling through the area. It is included in a list of the best UFO photos ever taken. Despite its clarity, it was not included in the list of photos examined by the Robertson Panel that met less than three years later. The second image is screenshot of a video taken by Arturo Robles Gil in Mexico in 2005.

Art of Deception UFO p37The third image was taken near St Austell, Cornwall, England by a holidaymaker.

While there is no text accompanying each of the three images, they appear in a section titled “Strand 3: Influence and Information Operations.” This indicates that the training of intelligence operatives involves sophisticated tools of psychological warfare when it comes to shaping public perceptions on issues such as UFOs. The Art of Deception is smoking gun evidence that the UFO issue is covered in the training of covert intelligence operatives in how to discredit internet authors and articles discussing sensitive national security information.

Fars News Agency story on Nazi Space aliens running USA

Fars News Agency story on Nazi Space aliens running USA

On Monday, the Washington Post released a most unusual story with the headline: “Iranian news agency says the U.S. is secretly run by Nazi space aliens.” Though the author, Max Fisher along with the Washington Post Foreign Staff, qualified the headline with the word, “Really,” it was clear that this was breaking new ground for the Post. The Washington Post’s Foreign Staff were giving a fresh perspective to the word “Foreign” by seriously examining claims by the Iranian media that the U.S. was being run by space aliens. Normally, such claims are found in conspiracy web sites and the alternative media. Now a bastion of the Fourth Estate was examining such claims with gusto. Yes, Fars News Agency, Iran’s semi-official news outlet, was indeed claiming that the U.S. was run by space aliens, and this merited a response by no less than the Washington Post. The floodgates were now opened. The U.S. and other world media dutifully followed the Post’s lead and began running their own stories. Forbes, Jerusalem Post, UPI, Huffington Post, The Blaze and other news sources were now covering the Iranians’ stunning claim. Was it all Iranian propaganda or is there truth to the claim that a group of space aliens are secretly running the world’s last remaining superpower?

To begin with let’s turn to the original story by the Fars news agency that appeared on Sunday with the title: “Snowden Documents Proving “US-Alien-Hitler” Link Stun Russia” Fars began the story as follows:

A stunning Federal Security Services (FSB) report on the nearly two million highly classified top-secret documents obtained from the United States Department of Defense (DOD) run National Security Agency-Central Security Service (NSA/CSS) by the American ex-patriot Edward Snowden states that this information is providing “incontrovertible proof” that an “alien/extraterrestrial intelligence agenda” is driving US domestic and international policy, and has been doing so since at least 1945.

The only source for Fars stunning claim was a story by Sorcha Faal on the conspiracy website, Whatdoesitmean.com. Faal has a notorious reputation for sprinkling patent falsehoods with genuine information and is viewed suspiciously by many conspiracy theorists. Nevertheless, Fars went on to reference an interview given by Former Canadian Defense Minister, Paul Hellyer to Russia Today as confirmation for its story. In the interview, Hellyer cites his own research and experiences supporting his claim that the world has been visited by extraterrestrials for thousands of years, and that U.S. leaders began being visited by aliens shortly after the Second World War.

Hellyer cited Charles Hall, a former US Air Force airman, who claims to have personally witnessed high level cooperation between a race of extraterrestrials he called the “Tall Whites,” and very senior Pentagon officials at Nellis Air Force base in the early 1960s. Hall has written four books about his experiences after he first went public in 2004. Fars gave a new twist to Hellyer’s and Hall’s claims by claiming that the Tall White extraterrestrials were behind the stunning technological rise of Nazi Germany. The Tall Whites therefore qualified as Nazi space aliens, and with the collapse of Nazi Germany, then began cooperating with the U.S. Over the decades of cooperation since, the Tall Whites had gradually taken over key elements of the U.S. national security establishment. According to Fars, all this was the final conclusion reached in the top secret study conducted by the Russian state security organization, the FSB (successor to the KGB), after researching Edward Snowden’s leaked NSA documents.

For those such as this writer, the information first released by Hall in 2004 is not new. Many of Hall’s claims along with supporting evidence was covered in my 2009 book, Exposing U.S. Government Policies on Extraterrestrial Life. What is new, however, is that a former Canadian Defense minister, has publicly endorsed Hall’s claims, and now major news media have begun seriously covering Hellyer’s vocal support for the veracity of Hall’s claims.

According to Fisher and the Washington Post Foreign Staff:

Yes, this story is highly entertaining, as are many of the bizarre conspiracy theories proposed by official or semi-official news agencies in authoritarian states. But there’s also a more serious undercurrent here. A worldview that sees the U.S. as an evil hegemonic force so irrationally driven toward global domination that it must be run by space aliens is not a worldview that is predisposed toward negotiation or accommodation.

Fisher’s conclusion is that claims of Nazi space aliens running the US is propaganda by Iran’s hardline factions to rule out cooperation with the U.S. in current nuclear negotiations. On the other hand, by giving the claims of the Fars News Agency serious coverage, the Washington Post was doing more than simply reveal the intransigence of Iran’s hardline factions. It was giving serious news coverage to claims that have been on fringe conspiracy websites for years.

The US national security apparatus has been allegedly negotiating and colluding with space aliens for years according to multiple sources cited in Exposing US Government Policies on Extraterrestrial Life. If some of these sources are accurate, it is feasible that U.S. sovereignty has been seriously compromised. Now the Washington Post has made such controversial claims legitimate material for the Fourth Estate to examine in light of current nuclear negotiations between Iran and the world community. Whether propaganda, truth, or a mixture of both, the Washington Post’s examination of Fars News Agency claims of the U.S. being run by Nazi space aliens has sparked an international debate.

KSBW TV covers Salinas crop circle with Comet ISON in background

Screenshot of KSBW TV coverage of Salinas crop circle interpretation. Comet ISON depicted in upper left background.

A crop circle that appeared 11 miles southeast of Salinas, California on December 28, 2013 contains three coded messages according to renowned crop circle researcher, Dr Horace Drew. According to Dr Drew, a retired molecular biologist who worked at Caltech and Australia’s CSIRO, one of the coded messages was to be vigilant about an upcoming astronomical event. The next message referred to a date in the near future when an astronomical event is to occur by July 8, 2014. The third and most startling message was that comet ISON was a space transportation system.  Taken in their entirety, the three messages appear to be encouraging people to watch the skies for an upcoming astronomical event featuring remnants of ISON that will in fact be an extraterrestrial event of some kind. If genuine and correctly interpreted, the Salinas crop circle is a vindication for those claiming that Comet ISON was no comet at all, but one or more objects under intelligent extraterrestrial control with a specific mission for the inner solar system and Earth.

The December 28, Salinas crop circle attracted widespread attention due to its unusual timing and location. It appeared well after the crop circle season in southern England had concluded, and most crop circle researchers had quietly withdrawn to write summaries of the 2013 summer season. According to an email by crop researcher Paul Jacobs, who began investigating the Salinas crop circle:

No one in the area has made claim to it and the locals had no knowledge of it or its construction. I estimate it would have taken three men working in daylight conditions doing 9-hour shifts for nearly 9 days to complete this pattern. My gut feeling is we have an important event on our hands here.

More tellingly, a security firm was hired by an unknown agency to begin guarding the crop circle on the same day it was discovered. According to Linda Moulton Howe from Earthfiles.com:

On Saturday morning, December 28, 2013, Echelon Security in San Jose, California, was hired by an agency to guard the intricate pattern in the 2 to 3 foot high barley in the Chualar field east of Salinas. This fact was confirmed the afternoon of December 31, 2013, by staff writer Phillip Molnar at the Monterey County Herald.

Howe described an account by Jeff Krause, of how the security firm deployed four security trucks with personnel to keep people out of the crop circle:

I arrived at the site near 7:15 AM Pacific on December 31, 2013. When I got there, four security trucks were parked on the road outside the circle to keep people from going in. They were very adamant about not letting anybody on the field property.

It would be odd for a farmer to hire and pay for four security trucks and personnel to protect a barley field. The clear implication is that an unnamed U.S. agency saw the Salinas crop circle as having national security implications and funded Echelon Securities to keep the public away. So what was the message that the crop circle contained and may have sparked a national security response by an unknown U.S. agency?

The Salinas crop circle had a circular design with a number of complex geometric patterns that appeared to be coded messages. The main breakthrough came when a Braille language interpreter identified some of the crop patterns as being text book characters from the Braille language. The Braille message was quickly interpreted as a series of numbers and letter  – (192)-(192)-2-(192)-1-(192)-(192).

According to Dr Drew, when the British search engine 192.com is used, the code can be translated as: “The blind will see, and those who seek will find.” If interpreted correctly, the message here was that something will shortly happen that will be so unambiguous, that even die-hard skeptics will see what they previously denied. For others, the upcoming event will be vindication for what they have been seeking.

The second message was identified by Dr Drew as an outer code featuring three tall poles accompanied by numbers using Morse code. The message was 3-space-3-space-1. Dr Drew interpreted this as referring to an event timed to occur in the near future: “we should go around the “polar clock” by three full turns (days, weeks, months?) until some “event time” is reached.” According to a retired US Navy Flight Officer, Captain Mark Wood, the date referred to by the number 192 in the main coded message is July 8, 2014, which is 192 days from December 28. Significantly, the alignment of planets on July 8, matches the crop circle configuration of celestial bodies.

The third message was an inner code again using Morse code according to Dr Drew. This message was the most startling since it appeared to refer to comet ISON. He translated the code as: E-T B I-S-O-N S-T-S. Here is how Dr Drew interpreted the code:

One interpretation of this cryptic message might be: “E T  B(e)” or “extra-terrestrials exist”.  Then “I-S-O-N (comet)” is an “S-T-S (space transportation system)” like for the NASA space shuttles (see  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/STS-1).

So could the Salinas crop circle refer to an upcoming extraterrestrial event connected to the remnants of Comet ISON, which was no comet at all?

Comet ISON received widespread scientific interest as a possible Comet of the century, but fizzled out shortly after its perihelion on November 28, 2013. After perihelion astronomers quickly concluded that the comet had disintegrated. Yet comet ISON made a remarkable recovery surprising many scientific observers. It was only temporary, however, and ISON soon disappeared again. Most astronomers concluded that it had perished after all. All that remained was small comet debris that temporarily lit up after perihelion giving the illusion that the comet had survived.

There were others, however, who claimed that ISON was in fact an artificially targeted object designed to interact with the inner solar system in a specific manner on certain dates. Others went further to claim that ISON was a small fleet of extraterrestrial vehicles on a specific mission designed to educate Earth’s inhabitants about extraterrestrial life. These startling analyses of ISON seemed to be quashed by ISON’s disappearance after perihelion. Now the Salinas crop circle suggests that these analyses of ISON may have been right all along. We will have to wait and see in the months ahead, and the possible July 8 date, whether an astronomical event occurs that settles once and for all the true nature of comet ISON and whether an extraterrestrial intelligence was behind it.

[Update: 1/7/14 – The tech company Nvidia announced on Sunday night that it made the Salinas crop circle as part of a marketing campaign to promote its latest chip. What does this bode for its message – human contrivance or a deeper agenda is being played out? The situation reminds me of Richard Hoagland’s dictum, “the lie is different at every level.”]
